Twenty-six years ago, the reform of state-owned enterprises was moving forward with difficulty, calling for modern business management talents to promote it. However, for a long time, Chinese education has been focusing on the cultivation of engineering and technical talents, while management talents are scarce. Therefore, management has become the "short board" for deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises. In order to make up for this "shortcoming", the CPC Shaanxi Province Committee and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province specially invited leaders of Xi'an Jiaotong University and other key universities in Shaanxi to discuss whether they could introduce the Master of Business Administration (MBA) model to establish Shaanxi MBA Institute based on the advantages of management schools of each university, so as to absorb on-the-job employees for further education and improve themselves while working, which was unanimously accepted. Since its establishment in 1996, with the concerted efforts of the seven universities, our institute has trained more than 19,400 enterprise executives, making achievements recognized by society and making positive contributions to the economic and social development of Shaanxi province.
As our teaching is close to practice, students quickly apply the new knowledge to their work practice to solve the problems faced by the enterprise, and their knowledge level as well as management ability have also been greatly improved. Among them, a large number of students have taken up leadership positions and become veritable CEOs, contributing to Shaanxi's pursuit of surpassing.
After 26 years of hard work and exploration, we have taken a path of educational system reform and innovation, overcome one difficulty after another, and shaped a graduate education model that is approved by the government, run by the society, supported by the education department and suitable for Chinese national conditions, enriching the practice of MBA education in China.
Looking back on the 26-year history of running the institute, we will continue to work hard, constantly explore, innovate, and improve. Under the guidance of the education authorities and the joint efforts of the seven universities, with the spirit of "encouraging learning, seeking truth, acting earnestly and innovating", we will continue to move forward.
