Xi'an Jiaotong university is a key university directly administered by the Ministry of Education. It is one of the earliest modern institutions of higher learning established in China, and the first batch of key construction project schools in the country's “Seventh Five-Year Plan” and “Eighth Five-Year Plan”. Meanwhile, Xi’an Jiaotong University is one of the earliest seven universities to enter China’s “211 Project” , also one of the nine well-known institutions of higher learning that the national “985 Project” focuses on building a world-renowned high-level university construction. 

The School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University was founded in 1928 and rebuilt in December 1984. It is one of the earliest management schools in China. There are two national first-class key disciplines, management science and engineering, and business administration. Since 2001, it has been ranked first in the "Management" discipline category for seven consecutive years. In the discipline rankings published by the Ministry of Education in 2007, “Management Science and Engineering” and “Business Administration” of the school of Management of Xi’an Jiaotong University both won the first prize. In 2011, the college officially obtained AACSB international certification.

Since the launch of MBA education in 1991, the School of Management of Xi’an Jiaotong University has recruited and trained nearly 10,000 MBA students, which become the backbone of economic construction and management services in various industries. In recent years, the School of Management has made great efforts to expand new ways of enrollment, deepen teaching reforms, improve teaching and service quality, strengthen cooperation and communication between the school and enterprises, and increase practical sessions.
