Northwestern University Educational Division


Northwestern University originated from the Shaanxi University Hall and the Imperial Academy of Beijing in 1902. In 1912, it was called Northwestern University. Now it is the first batch of national "world-class discipline construction universities", and national "211 Project" construction universities, co-built by the Ministry of Education and Shaanxi Province.

Northwestern University established the Department of Business as early as 1912, and established the Department of Economics in 1937. Famous scholars such as Wang Yanan, Shen Zhiyuan, Luo Zhanglong and Ji Taoda have taught here successively. In 1977, the economics major and the Department of Economics were restored. In 1985, the School of Economics and Management was established, it enjoys the reputation as the “Cradle of economists” and has now become a well-known national college integrating economics and management, teaching and scientific research.

The MBA education at Northwestern University started in 1996 and has cultivated more than 10,000 MBA students, making it one of the largest MBA training bases in northwest China. The School of Economics and Management has always adhered to the combination of humanistic quality and professional quality, forming six characteristics, as described below:
